AP U.S. History
Instructor: Miss Parmer
Advanced Placement® United States History is a challenging course that is meant to be the equivalent of a freshman college course and can earn students college credit. This course offers students a survey of American history from the age of exploration and discovery to the present. Solid reading and writing skills, along with a willingness to devote considerable time to homework and study, are necessary to succeed. The course also emphasizes critical and evaluative thinking skills, essay writing, interpretation of original documents, and historiography. Students will conclude the course with a college-level exam, prepared by the College Board, which, if passed, may result in college credit.
